Blackburn draft in Modeste on loan

Blackburn Rovers have completed the loan signing of striker Anthony Modeste from Bordeaux, subject to a medical.
The 23-year-old has made the trip to Ewood Park and will be available for this weekend's clash with Everton. He is on loan for the remainder of the season, although Bordeaux insist there is no clause in the deal enabling Blackburn to make the transfer permanent.
Modeste, 23, joined the Ligue 1 side from Nice for €3.5 million in the summer of 2010, but has failed to make a real impact at the club in recent times.
Blackburn manager Steve Kean has pledged to be busy in the January transfer window, with an offer also submitted for Fulham forward Andrew Johnson.
"It is going to really pick up pace," Kean told the Lancashire Telegraph. "We have been very active, we have extensive lists, we have bids.
"We don't want to say to who, how much and how many, we have been very, very active in this window and hopefully we can bring new faces in."
