The agent of Tottenham's Roman Pavlyuchenko has confirmed that the club have extended the striker's contract by a further year to the summer of 2013.

Pavlyuchenko, 30, has not started a Premier League game this season for Spurs and has been tipped to head for the White Hart Lane exit in January, with a return to Russia with Spartak Moscow or Anzhi Makhachkala mooted.

However, the forward is now contracted to Tottenham until 2013, with the club having taken up an option to extend his current deal - meaning he could now command a greater transfer fee.

"Tottenham, headed by Mr [Daniel] Levy, had the option of extending his contract, and they have done so," Pavlyuchenko's agent Oleg Artemov told Russian website championat.ru.

"They informed UEFA, FIFA and the English FA that they have extended the contract by a year. This happened about two or three months ago, so this is already quite old news."

Pavlyuchenko has scored 41 goals in 108 appearances for Spurs since arriving at the club in a £14 million switch from Spartak Moscow in 2008.
