Everton midfielder Diniyar Bilyaletdinov looks poised to leave Goodison Park after Spartak Moscow claimed a deal is on the brink of being completed.

Bilyaletdinov, 26, joined Everton from Lokomotiv Moscow for £8.9 million in 2009 but has since struggled to make an impact on Merseyside, scoring eight times in 59 Premier League appearances.

Russian Premier League side Spartak have now claimed they have reached "an agreement in principle" with the Toffees, with a fee in the region of £5 million reportedly set to change hands.

A statement on the Moscow club's website read: "The contract will be signed after the medical examination."

Everton boss David Moyes, whose side are 14th in the Premier League, will be hopeful of being able to reinvest the money received from the sale of Bilyaletdinov before the close of the January transfer window.
