PSG's director of football Leonardo has confirmed the Ligue 1 club have ended negotiations over the potential signing of Carlos Tevez from Manchester City.

Reports last week suggested a move to France looked unlikely for Tevez after claims his advisor, Kia Joorabchian, failed to hold positive discussions with PSG.

And now Leonardo has announced the Argentina international will not be arriving at Parc des Princes, leaving the two Milan giants, Inter and AC, as his only remaining suitors.

"We stopped the negotiations," Leonardo told L'Equipe. "At the moment there is not much movement in the market. There was an opportunity, we have studied it, we made a good offer but failed to agree a deal. We will not pay excessively so we stop. It's over."

Tevez had earlier commented: "Thanks PSG, but no. My destination is Milan. I only see myself in the Rossoneri colours. Now I'm waiting for Milan."

Brazilian former World Cup winner Leonardo did, however, confirm they are chasing Chelsea defender Alex and Inter Milan midfielder Thiago Motta.

"Both of them are possibilities but for now, nothing is done," he said.
