Harry Redknapp has played down the prospect of Tottenham adding to their squad ahead of the transfer deadline on Tuesday.

Tottenham are still in the title race, although securing a place in the top four is a more realistic target, and Redknapp has been linked with a number of players this January.

Spurs are not averse to a late tilt at the window, but Redknapp feels there is little prospect of making a signing - despite identifying targets.

"It's difficult, I doubt if we'll do anything really now," he said following the win over Watford in the FA Cup on Friday. "It'll be hard to do anything.

"I haven't been chasing the chairman, we haven't been desperate. The chairman's not been pushing me to do anything.

"There's a couple of players that we like but you're not going to get them in at this stage."
