Spurs made 'enormous' Remy bid - Marseille

Spurs launched a substantial bid for Marseille striker Loic Remy in January, according to the French club's chairman Vicent Labrune.
Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp was present in the stands to watch Remy in Marseille's 2-0 win over Lille earlier this month, a game in which the 25-year-old helped himself to a brace.
"In January, I have two deals to manage," Labrune told French newspaper L'Equipe. "That of Lucho [Gonzalez], who wanted to leave, and that of Remy, who Tottenham wanted to sign. I do not think any other president in France would have refused the enormous proposal the London club made."
