Nelsen's agent confirms Spurs deal is on

Ryan Nelsen's agent has confirmed the defender was released from his contract at Blackburn Rovers and is therefore set to join Tottenham Hotspur on a free transfer.
Tottenham swooped for Nelsen, 34, late on transfer deadline day as a replacement for Sebastien Bassong, who has joined Wolves on loan until the end of the season.
Spurs are waiting for the Premier League to confirm the deal for the New Zealand international, although no issues are expected as Nelsen is now a free agent and hence is in the clear to complete the deal outside of the transfer window.
Lyle Yorks, Nelsen's Washington-based representative from James Grant Sports, told the Washington Post: "We settled with Blackburn and have reached agreement with Spurs.
"We're just awaiting clearance. It's for six months, with a one-year option. It all unfolded quickly."
