Redknapp absence has hurt Spurs - Parker

Tottenham midfielder Scott Parker has admitted the absence of manager Harry Redknapp in recent weeks has hurt the team.

Redknapp was unable to attend Spurs' 0-0 draw against Liverpool at Anfield on Monday, as a combination of an ongoing court case and difficult weather conditions made it impossible for him to make it to Merseyside in time for kick-off.

The absence from the match was just the latest inconvenience for Redknapp, who has also been forced to miss a number of training sessions in recent weeks as he fights a charge of tax evasion at Southwark Crown Court. Parker admits the turmoil has not helped the team.

"Harry gives that extra bit of energy. We've missed him the past couple of weeks," Parker told Sky Sports. "We'll be absolutely delighted when he comes back."

Parker played a strong role in midfield as Spurs held on for a goalless draw in the Premier League encounter, although he thought the side could have been more inventive in attack to try and take all three points from the game.

"It was a tough night. When you come to Anfield it's difficult and tonight was no different," he noted. "I thought we were a little bit one-paced tonight.

"We've come and got a point, kept a clean sheet and that's most important thing."
