Tevez plays 45 minutes on City return

Carlos Tevez stepped up his Manchester City comeback when he took to the field during the reserves' Central League Cup clash against Preston on Tuesday.
Tevez managed 45 minutes of the fixture, and was unlucky to be denied by a fine saving tackle when sent clean through on the goalkeeper.
The fixture was due to take place at Chorley FC on Wednesday, but was brought forward 24 hours and relocated to City's Carrington training complex in order to more effectively shield Tevez from the media spotlight.
The club were using the fixture to assess Tevez's fitness levels following so long out of the game, and City officials Patrick Vieira and Brian Marwood were there to oversee the action.
Last Tuesday, Tevez made a public apology for his conduct, having spent three-and-a-half months AWOL in Argentina following a fall-out with City manager Roberto Mancini during a Champions League tie with Bayern Munich in September.
Tevez has reportedly been told that he will not be considered for this weekend's first-team fixture against Bolton, with the game against Swansea on March 10 a more likely target.
