Silva playing through the pain at City

David Silva has admitted the demands of Manchester City's Premier League title bid is taking its toll on his body.
The Spain midfielder has revealed he is plagued by a long-term ankle problem, admitting it is "totally impossible" to stay fit all the time.
Silva underwent an operation on his left ankle in 2008, but has never fully recovered from the injury. With City chasing Europa League glory as well as bidding to win their first league title since 1968, Silva admits the rigours of English football have made it hard to maintain peak fitness.
"This ankle, it is something that I have had problems with for years and years," Silva told the Daily Telegraph. "Every day, I have to look after it. It's not 100%, but I just have to look after it.
"Playing all of these games in England is hard, so it is impossible, totally impossible, to be completely 100% all the time.
"When I was at Valencia, I had an operation on it shortly after Euro 2008. For some reason, I always seem to get knocks and problems in the same area. But all you can do is try to be fit enough to play as often as possible. It is draining, but the important thing is to focus on the end of the season and winning the Premier League."
