Dons chairman backs Di Matteo

MK Dons chairman Pete Winkelman believes interim Chelsea boss Roberto Di Matteo will impress the club's fans and owner with the style of football he will try to implement at Stamford Bridge.
The Italian has been tasked with steering the West London outfit through the remainder of the season after Andre Villas-Boas was dismissed over the weekend, and knowing Di Matteo well from his time at MK Dons, Winkelman believes the toughest task he will face will be managing the dressing room.
"It sounds like it's been difficult there and obviously you've got a team that probably isn't performing at its best, although Andre went in there with a remit to make some changes, and of course that's always difficult," Winkelman told Sky Sports News.
"I think that will be the test of Robbie. You've got the best players in the world there to get motivated, if you can get that part of it right I know that tactically and the way he will play will go down well with the chairman and fans."
Winkelman added: "I think that Chelsea will appreciate his style of play. It has some flair, some real attacking moments. Obviously it's very different at a lower league club because he comes with such a track record as a player, and that maybe doesn't mean quite so much when you've got the kind of dressing room you do at Chelsea, which is full of the best players in the world."
