Wylde and Celik leave Rangers

Gregg Wylde and Mervan Celik have become the first players to leave Rangers with the club's administrators still in negotiations over a payment plan that would reduce the number of redundancies.
20-year-old winger Wylde and Swedish Under-21 international Celik asked to be released from their contracts with the club, with reports that three more players are in talks to end their contracts as the administrators seek savings of £1 million a month.
Wylde has waived his wages for March and will not seek redundancy package from Rangers, saying he hopes his decision will "save other people's jobs."
"I wanted to help out the club by keeping people in a job," said Wylde. "I was so tired I couldn't really sleep at night. It was getting to me so I thought I would leave."
"I volunteered to walk with no redundancy package today to help the other people in the club who have families, like the kitchen staff. I offered to walk away yesterday and the club told me today that they would accept that offer.
"At the moment I have nowhere to go and I don't have another club," Wylde added. "I don't know what is going to happen next but I thought it was important to play my part in saving Rangers."
The Rangers players and union representatives met with administrators Duff and Phelps at their Murray Park training ground to discuss a proposal that would have seen the club's highest earners accept a 75% pay cut in March, with other players accepting a less severe cut.
The deal was initally rejected on Tuesday, leaving as many as 11 players were faced with redundancy following the failure to meet an agreement, but was brought under consideration once more with the potential three-tier wage cuts going ahead with a reduced number of redundancies.
Wylde made his debut for Rangers in August 2009 and went on to make 47 appearances, scoring two goals. Celik had only joined Rangers in January, making six appearances for the club, several of those from the substitutes bench.
