Manchester City have fined Mario Balotelli one week's wages for a breach of club discipline.

City manager Roberto Mancini revealed after the club's win over Bolton at the weekend that he would investigate claims Balotelli was seen leaving a nightclub in the early hours of Friday - less than 48 hours before the game.

"I will speak with him," Mancini said. "I am disappointed. If it is true I will do the maximum fine that we can."

It would appear the investigation resulted in Mancini being satisfied Balotelli had breached club discipline as a fine has been meted out.

"I spoke with Mario and have given him a one-week fine," Mancini said on Wednesday. "For what he did it is normal. Every player has to have good behaviour before the game."

It would appear the incident is closed, as Balotelli accepted his punishment. When asked if the striker was fine with the decision, Mancini said: "Yes."
