Newcastle goalkeeper Tim Krul has dampened talk of a feud with Arsenal captain Robin van Persie, following their disagreements during Monday's fixture between the sides.

The Netherlands team-mates were at each other's throats throughout the match, with Van Persie apparently angered by what he perceived as time-wasting from Krul.

The exchanges between the two came to a head towards the end of the contest, and they had to be separated after squaring up to each other.

But having benefited from a cool-down period of a few days, Krul insists he has no wish to burn any bridges. "There are no grudges and these are big games, but it is each week in the Premier League," Krul said, according to the Times.

Meanwhile, Netherlands coach Bert van Marwijk claims he has no concerns that the players' fractured relationship will transmit itself to the rest of the squad.

"These are guys with a winning mentality that you need at a European Championship," he said.
