Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has reiterated his admiration for Lille forward Eden Hazard - but says he is not sure whether formal talks have begun between the clubs over the player.

Hazard, 21, is tipped to move to the Premier League at some point this summer, and has been linked with Spurs, Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United.

Earlier this week, he said he was "excited" by the prospect of a move to Old Trafford, having been watched by Sir Alex Ferguson this month.

However, it is Redknapp who has been the most vociferous in his praise for the player - and, despite Hazard hinting at a preference for United, he remains keen to bring him to White Hart Lane for next season.

"I like him, he's a fantastic player," Redknapp said. "I don't know where the club's at. The chairman will deal with that. If anyone's talking to Lille it would be the chairman, not me.

"He's a player I've watched an awful lot, he's a real talent. Only the chairman would know where we are in terms of actually getting the player. I wouldn't have a clue if we're close, a million miles away, or anywhere else."

Belgium international Hazard has scored 11 goals in 24 starts this season for Lille, who are third in Ligue 1, 11 points behind leaders PSG.
