Kompany may face Stoke - but no Lescott

Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has ruled defender Joleon Lescott out of the key clash at Stoke this weekend - but skipper Vincent Kompany could be available for action.
City will go top of the league with victory at the Britannia, as current leaders Manchester United are not in action until Monday, when they will host Fulham.
However, Mancini's side face the daunting prospect of an aerial bombardment from Stoke without their first-choice centre backs, so three points are far from a certainty.
Kompany is struggling with a hamstring injury picked up against Sporting Lisbon earlier this month, while Lescott has a groin problem. "Joleon I don't think [will face Stoke] but for Vinnie [Kompany] maybe he has some chance," Mancini said.
Kolo Toure and Micah Richards impressed at the heart of the defence in City's 2-1 victory over Chelsea on Wednesday, which moved the Etihad outfit one point behind United in the battle for the Premier League crown.
