Ivanovic back but Meireles misses out for Chelsea

Roberto Di Matteo has revealed that Raul Meireles is likely to miss Chelsea's trip to Aston Villa on Saturday after the midfielder picked up a knee injury.

Meireles, who has been linked with a £10 million move to Real Madrid in the summer, has picked up a knock, but Di Matteo is hopeful the former Liverpool midfielder will be not be sidelined for long.

Branislav Ivanovic travelled to Lisbon with the squad but played no part in the Blues' midweek win over Benfica. The defender has recovered from a thigh injury and is available for selection.

"I'm very happy we have almost a full squad to select from, Ivanovic is available again, Meireles is the only doubt," Di Matteo said.

"[Meireles] got a knock just above his knee so it shouldn't be too serious but he is not ready for [Saturday]."
