Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has insisted the title race is far from over, convinced Manchester United can drop points between now and the end of the season.

City have slipped five points behind Manchester United, who have produced their renowned strong finish to the season.

The two sides meet at City's Eastlands ground at the end of April, but United could be out of sight by then and Mancini's team face a tough clash with Arsenal at the weekend.

Mancini has admitted he would congratulate United if they win their final seven games and clinch the title, but he feels twists and turns lie ahead.

"If they win all their games, we will congratulate them as they deserve to win the title," he said. "But seven games to the end, I believe anything can happen.

"We lose four points in two games, so it is possible also for them.

"Maybe in this moment there are some that do not believe because it is difficult, but in football we can believe always.

"It is important we go to win our game and after that we see what happens. We then play a derby, which can be three points and there are six other games and in that they can lose points."

Mancini's side are certain to record their best finish in the Premier League and he is proud of his players.

He said: "I can say that I am proud of what the players have done in this championship. They have been on top for a long time, have shown fight and we have improved as a team."
