Ferdinand wants Adebayor to stay at Spurs

Les Ferdinand believes Tottenham should do everything in their power to keep hold of Emmanuel Adebayor at the end of the season.
After being frozen out at Manchester City, former Arsenal striker Adebayor has enjoyed success on his return to north London, scoring 14 goals since joining Spurs on loan in the summer.
However, Adebayor's wages are likely to be the major sticking point in any potential deal - Adebayor is reported to earn around £170,000 a week at Eastlands, well in excess of Spurs' top earners.
Following Rafael van der Vaart's pleas for Tottenham to hang onto Adebayor, Spurs strikers coach Ferdinand admits it would be a huge boost if the Togo international were to stay at White Hart Lane.
"All the players have enjoyed Manny playing, not just on the field every weekend, he is great in the dressing room before, he is one of the big characters around the place so it would be good to keep him," Ferdinand told Sky Sports News.
"If you are going to play that lone striker role, what you need is someone that can hold the ball up. All his attributes mean he is an ideal No. 9 - he can hold onto the ball, score goals with his head and what he does is bring people into games so he has been absolutely essential to the way we have performed this season.
"You hope that he can continue the form until the end of the season and come the end of the season hopefully we can think about making a bid."
