Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick feels Paul Scholes will still have plenty to offer the club next season, having produced a recent run of "amazing" performances.

League leaders United have dropped just two points from 36 since Scholes came out of retirement in January, and are poised to net a 20th league title. He was on target as United pulled eight points clear of Manchester City with a 2-0 victory over ten-man QPR on Sunday.

No decision has been made on Scholes' future, with boss Sir Alex Ferguson claiming the topic has not been raised, but Carrick expects the former England international to play on.

"Paul has had a massive impact," Carrick said in the Sun. "We all know how good he is and what he brings to the pitch and the training ground.

"His performances, having come straight back into the team, have been amazing. He has just carried on and I'm sure he has a lot of games left in him yet."
