Andy Carroll has warned rivals Everton that Liverpool head into their FA Cup semi-final at Wembley on Saturday high on confidence following their last-gasp win over Blackburn.
Carroll netted an injury-time winner as the Reds grabbed all three points in a dramatic 3-2 win at Ewood Park in which Yakubu's brace looked to have secured a point for Rovers after two early goals from Maxi Rodriguez.
Liverpool were forced to play more than an hour with ten men after keeper Alexander Doni was sent off for a foul on Junior Hoilett. And having battled back to claim all three points, Carroll claims Liverpool always believed they could win the match.
"It was a funny old game, wasn't it? Back and forth and a sending off as well but in the end we got the win that we came here for," Carroll told Sky Sports. "We all believed that we were going to get the winning goal at the end and we kept on attacking all the way through."
Despite a poor run of league form in which Liverpool have won just one of their previous nine Premier League matches, Carroll insists the squad never lost belief.
"We all are confident we have just been a little bit unlucky in a few games and I think the luck will come on our side sooner rather later hopefully. But it was a good performance from all the lads today and we deserved the win.
"It shows the fight that we have got their coming off a few defeats and draws and coming here and winning is a great lift for all the lads to go to Wembley and get to the final from there."
