Bordeaux in contact with Chamakh

Bordeaux president Jean Louis Triaud claims he has sounded out Arsenal striker Marouane Chamakh with regarding to a return to the club.
Chamakh left Bordeaux for Arsenal in the summer of 2010 and made a bright start, but his form tailed off as the season progressed and he is well down Arsene Wenger's pecking order.
The forward claims he is keen to fight for his future at Arsenal, but he has the option of a return to Bordeaux if a deal can be done.
"I have spoken with Marouane and told him that he is welcome at Bordeaux and that we still have room for him," Triaud told RMC. "The main problem will be financial because he has tasted the salaries in England and Arsenal will ask for a fee.
"Chamakh has told me that if he was to return to France, it would be at Bordeaux."
Chamakh, though, has played down suggestions that he would leave and claimed he still wants to prove himself in the Premier League.
"I want to improve my football in England and be a success here," he said. "Unless the club tell me otherwise, I will fight to establish myself. I have the ability to be a top player in this league.
"I love Bordeaux but Arsenal are my club at the moment."
