Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has revealed that the atmosphere around the club changed "dramatically" following the 5-2 comeback victory over Tottenham Hotspur in February.

Since that triumph, the Gunners have won six of seven Premier League matches, including wins against Liverpool and Manchester City.

It has been title-winning form from Arsene Wenger's outfit, who now look assured of a Champions League place next season - and only a woeful start to the season, which featured an 8-2 defeat at Old Trafford, has stopped them contending for the crown.

"It gives you a lot of confidence that we can compete for titles," Szczesny said in the Evening Standard. "Last season we finished poorly and you take it into the start of the new season - our start this time wasn't very good either.

"So we hope to finish strongly and take the momentum into the start of next season and, hopefully, continue forward throughout the campaign.

"I think the team spirit has turned our season around. We've stuck together and worked hard at the training ground after such a poor start. The results were going to come our way sooner or later.

"We kept fighting for each other and we are getting the credit we deserve now. Also I think the Tottenham game was the turning point - it came a little bit too late but since that game the atmosphere at the club has changed dramatically and it has helped us to get the results."
