Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart believes his side are back in the hunt for the Premier League crown ahead of next week's crucial derby.

Hart and his City team-mates earned a 2-0 victory over Wolves on Sunday as rivals Manchester United were held 4-4 by Everton. The results leave City trailing United by three points, with a key clash between the two clubs set to take place at the Etihad Stadium on Monday week.

"We've always been focused on finishing the season well and we have given ourselves a really good chance here," Hart said. "Our title chances are certainly a lot better than they were at the start of the day.

"We are excited, we feel ready, we are firing goals in. We are looking forward to it. There are only a few games now. We've been putting this one off for a long time and people have been talking about it. But now it's the next game and the one we are excited about."

Meanwhile, former Wolves defender Joleon Lescott remains fully focused on his current team as the loss to City saw Wanderers become the first side relegated from the Premier League this season.

"We knew Wolves would give it 100 per cent," said Lescott. "I'm a City player now and it was more important to get three points. It was nice Everton took a point at Old Trafford but we have to concentrate on our games."
