Super Suarez must stay, reiterates Dalglish

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has underlined the importance of keeping Luis Suarez at the club after the Uruguayan scored a hat-trick to defeat Norwich on Saturday.

Suarez has endured a difficult Premier League campaign to date following a well-documented FA charge for unsavoury comments directed at Manchester United defender Patrice Evra, but he let his football do the talking at the weekend as three sumptuous strikes lifted the Reds to a 3-0 victory at Carrow Road.

Suarez's difficulties integrating into English football have led some to suggest that he could leave Anfield in the summer, but Dalglish once again dismissed that as an option after another devastating display.

"Other people can catalogue his performances and put them in level of importance for us - it's just important that he plays for this football club," Dalglish said. "Nothing he does surprises you, whether it's his vision or his passing, his shots or his goals."

When asked whether Suarez could well be the difference in the forthcoming FA Cup final against Chelsea, Dalglish simply said: "Well, I'm no clairvoyant."

Suarez's third finish against the Canaries was arguably the pick of the bunch, as he took the ball from 55 yards out and lofted it over the stranded John Ruddy. Steven Gerrard admitted afterwards that he was on the verge of reprimanding his team-mate for some of his speculative attempts at goal, but Suarez was happy to see the effort come off as planned.

"It's something I like to try," Suarez said. "I saw the goalkeeper off his line. I was so happy."

"It was on the tip of my tongue to give him a rollicking ... but that then turned into a round of applause," Gerrard noted.
