Roy Hodgson has left Wembley after holding talks with the Football Association over the England job.

The FA was granted permission to speak to West Brom boss Hodgson on Sunday night and he was present at Wembley on Monday afternoon.

Hodgson, 64, spoke to FA chairman David Bernstein, chief executive Alex Horne, director of football development Sir Trevor Brooking and Club England managing director Adrian Bevington about the position.

He left just after 7pm without making any comment and the FA confirmed there would be no further statements on Monday, although an update is expected at some point on Tuesday.

It is expected that Hodgson will see out his West Brom contract, which expires at the end of the season, and then take charge of England's Euro 2012 warm-up matches against Norway on May 26 and Belgium on June 2.

Hodgson, who has extensive international experience after stints in charge of Switzerland, Finland and UAE, has long expressed an interest in leading his home country.
