Twente slap £12.5 million price tag on De Jong

FC Twente have warned the suitors of Luuk de Jong they will not consider selling their young striker for anything less than £12.5 million.
Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool, Newcastle and Tottenham are all chasing the signature of the 21-year-old who has scored 25 goals in the Eredivisie this season.
Twente boss Steve McClaren, who rates De Jong as one of the best talents he was worked with, believes the young Dutchman is perfectly suited to the Premier League and is resigned to losing him in the summer.
"Luuk is an 'English style' striker, made for English football," McClaren said. "I am just desperate to keep him one more year in Holland. But I realise that will be difficult.
"Luuk is big, strong, brilliant in the air and scores goals so easily. He has every quality a top class striker needs to have for a big club."
German clubs Borussia Monchengladbach and Bayer Leverkusen are reportedly interested in De Jong, but the player is said to be keen on a move to an English side.
"We want to keep Luuk. He is a vital player if we want to win the championship again next season and when we play in Europe," Twente president Joop Munsterman said.
"We have said that we won't go lower than £12.5m as a transfer fee. We need a top price for a top player."
