Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish has admitted he will sit down with the club's owners in the summer to digest the season - with his own future at Anfield likely to be on the agenda.

The Reds have had a mixed campaign, with Dalglish bringing silverware in the form of the Carling Cup, but it has ended on a low note with a poor run in the league and defeat to Chelsea in the FA Cup final.

Liverpool's owners have talked about a long-term plan and chairman Tom Werner has given his full backing to Dalglish.

In the aftermath of the FA Cup final, Dalglish did not want to comment on his own position but talks will take place at the end of the season.

"The owners will do the same as us," Dalglish said. "They will sit and analyse the season when it is finished.

"That is what we said before a ball was kicked and there is no reason to change that."
