France striker Olivier Giroud, a reported target for Arsenal, has spoken in glowing terms about Champions League finalists Bayern Munich.

The Montpellier hitman has helped to fire his team to the top of the Ligue 1 table - three points ahead of big-spending PSG - by netting 21 league goals and providing eight assists from 34 starts.

It has been suggested that his form has caught the eye of Arsene Wenger, who is likely to be in the market for another striker if Robin van Persie or Marouane Chamakh leaves the club this summer.

However, Giroud seemingly has his heart set on a move to Germany, having spoken to France team-mate Franck Ribery about life at Bayern.

"Bayern Munich are more in the focus than any other club due to the positive experience of French players there," Giroud said in Sport Bild magazine. "I have not yet spoken to them directly, but my agent has. Every player says how friendly they have been welcomed there and how happy they were there.

"I have spoken to Ribery a bit about the Bundesliga. We spoke about the fantastic fans, the full stadiums and the great life in Germany, and of course how the Bundesliga is particularly appealing to a striker since they play attacking football there."
