Dalglish not looking at Liverpool clearout

Kenny Dalglish has no plans to scrap any of his big-money signings this summer, despite a hugely disappointing league campaign.

Dalglish spent upwards of £50 million ahead of the 2011-12 season bringing the likes of Stewart Downing, Charlie Adam and Jordan Henderson to the Anfield fold. All three of those names are yet to make a significant impact for the Reds, earning more criticism than praise for their performances across the campaign.

The Liverpool boss confessed on Friday that his team's current league position simply is not good enough, insisting the club will never be achieving their aim until nobody is above them in the Premier League table.

In order for the Reds to become serious title challengers once more it would seem Dalglish will need to spend more significant sums this summer. The likes of Downing, Adam or even Andy Carroll could arguably be used to raise such funds, but Dalglish does not intend to sell anybody.

"We're not looking to move anybody out," the Liverpool manager commented.

"The only one that will be moving out will be Fabio [Aurelio], because his contract's up, but we'll not be looking to move anybody out so all we want to do is to add to the squad that we've got and see what happens from there.

"The transfer market brings up surprises. What the surprises are going to be, I'm no clairvoyant, I can't help you but I'm just saying that we're not actively looking to move anybody on."

Liverpool travel to Swansea on the final day of the season, knowing they can finish seventh, eighth or ninth in the table depending on results elsewhere.
