Dalglish bristles at exit talk
Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish has dismissed suggestions he is set to be sacked over the summer as no more than paper talk.
The Reds' disappointing Premier League season ended on a low note on Sunday as they were beaten 1-0 at Swansea - a defeat that leaves them eighth in the table, below rivals Everton.
Even prior to that reverse, reports had suggested that Dalglish would leave over the summer, with Wigan boss Roberto Martinez being lined up as a potential replacement.
But the Scot reacted tetchily when quizzed over whether or not he would be in the Anfield hotseat at the start of the 2012/13 campaign.
"I expect the owners to have more dignity and integrity than to believe a story in a newspaper," Dalglish said.
Speaking about the club's league performance, Dalglish said: "We're not going to run away from the points tally. We'll stand up and face up to reality. We're not trying to hide behind anything and say the points tally is going to be satisfactory to anybody who works or supports Liverpool.
"I think the performances have been excellent in a lot of cases, but not the points tally. We'll try our best to correct that."
