Didier Drogba has vowed to make up for his sending off in the 2008 Champions League final and help Chelsea beat Bayern Munich on Saturday.

Drogba was given his marching orders during the final four years ago against Manchester United, after slapping Nemanja Vidic during a game that United would eventually go on to win on penalties.

The Ivorian has a strong record in FA Cup finals - he scored his fourth goal in such matches during the recent victory over Liverpool at Wembley - but has not always been so dependable on the European stage, and wants to put that right at the Allianz Arena.

"People say I'm made to play in cup finals and it's true I've had many great moments in these games," Drogba said.

"But I've had my disappointments, so I'll try to make this a great one."
