Cahill eyes fantastic end to 'mad' season

Gary Cahill is hoping to cap a "mad" and "fantastic" season by helping Chelsea claim Champions League glory.
The England international joined Chelsea in January from Bolton, but did not have the ideal transition to life at Stamford Bridge as he struggled to nail down a regular place and then saw the man who signed him, Andre Villas-Boas, lose his job.
Cahill has also had to battle injury, but he is winning his fitness race for Saturday's clash with Bayern Munich and, with John Terry suspended, will in all probability partner David Luiz at the heart of Chelsea's back four.
"It's been a mad season and a fantastic season for me," Cahill said. "Making a move here has obviously worked out really well.
"Now I'm looking to move on and really build my career at Chelsea. First to win the FA Cup and now to go into this huge game in my first six months here is really crazy."
Cahill has admitted it was a tough transition from Bolton to Chelsea, but he is confident he has settled in and is ready to establish himself as a Stamford Bridge great.
"Ideally you want to come in, hit the ground running and after two games have everyone saying how amazing you are," he said. "But that doesn't always happen, so you have to work at your game.
"Moving in that January window is different to moving in the summer, when you're juggling everything behind the scenes as well as trying to concentrate on your football. So it took a few weeks, but I was never worried.
"I was pleased with my game before I got injured and I hope it continues and keep progressing."
