Manchester United chief executive David Gill expects the club to loan out a number of youngsters next season.

Tom Cleverley and Danny Welbeck have both established themselves in the United first team after loan spells at Wigan and Sunderland respectively in the 2010/11 campaign, and the likes of Federico Macheda, Robbie Brady and Joshua King were all farmed out last term.

And while Gill said that there were no loan deals in the pipeline, he admitted it was a policy that benefitted both club and player.

"It's always been a feature," Gill told the club's official website. "We've done that for many years. Alex and the coaching staff will work closely to try and place players in the right teams for their development.

"We have seen that with people like Danny Welbeck and Tom Cleverley who have done very well and come back in after spells with other teams. Let's see what happens but it's good for them and good for us."
