Lambert planning for future with Norwich

Norwich manager Paul Lambert has made it clear that he has never had any intention of leaving the club, and that he is already well underway with his plans for next season with the Canaries.

The Scot has been strongly linked with the vacant managerial position at Aston Villa, but reacted angrily when questioned on the subject following Adam Drury's testimonial on Tuesday evening.

"You must be winding me up. Listen to what I'm telling you. You are asking me some negative things. It's nothing to do with me, this is about Adam Drury," said Lambert in a press conference after he had already been asked about striker Grant Holt's future.

"I am delighted I am at Norwich if that is what you are asking me. I have never said I wanted away, not a thing have I said, and people are jumping to conclusions.

"I am trying to prepare Norwich for next season the best I can.

"Ian [Culverhouse, assistant manager] and I have had a chat and we have got players in mind that we would like to bring to the football club.

"Hopefully we will get those lads in and keep progressing the club."

Captain Holt submitted a transfer request last week, which was rejected by the club, and when quizzed on what was happening with the player Lambert responded: "Don't ask me, I'm not telling you. It's not the time for that, it's Adam's game, so it's not about Grant, it's not about me, it's about Adam Drury."
