Tottenham move in on Vertonghen

Tottenham are ready to complete a move for Ajax skipper Jan Vertonghen, who has revealed Spurs are his destination of choice.
Vertonghen is on the brink of a Premier League switch after Spurs chairman Daniel Levy flew to Amsterdam this week to finalise negotations. Tottenham are reported to have have offered £9.6 million for Vertonghen, who has also been pursued by Arsenal.
"I have a preference for Spurs," said Vertonghen. "I've got the best feeling for that club and I'm a 'feeling person'.
"They already invited me and want to handle it quickly. They say I'm their only option, which I take as a compliment."
Vertonghen, a Belgium international centre-back, made his Eredivisie debut with Ajax in 2006 after progressing through the club's famed youth academy.
