Everton defender Sylvain Distin has signed a new one-year contract at Goodison Park.
Distin, 34, joined Everton from Portsmouth for £5 million in 2009 and has since made 91 Premier League starts for the Toffees.
His previous terms on Merseyside were due to expire this summer but the club have agreed a deal which will keep him at Everton for the 2012-13 season.
Distin arrived on English shores in 2001 after he spent time on loan at Newcastle from PSG, before sealing a switch to Manchester City in 2002.
The defender spent five years at City, then moved on to Portsmouth where he lifted the FA Cup in 2008.
