France striker Remy suffers Euro 2012 KO
France striker Loic Remy has been ruled out of Euro 2012 after failing to recover from a thigh injury in time.
Remy suffered the injury in Marseille's 3-0 win over Auxerre last week and was given a four-week recovery period which gave him a chance to be fit to play in Ukraine and Poland this summer.
However, the French federation said in a statement on Friday: "Loic Remy is out of Euro 2012. He hasn't fully recovered from his injury."
France are in Group D with England, co-hosts Ukraine and Sweden at next month's tournament and coach Laurent Blanc is not thought to need to call a replacement player as he has not yet named his final 23-man squad.
