France midfielder Yann M'Vila has been deemed fit enough to keep his place in the squad for Euro 2012 following a scan on his injured ankle.

Rennes star M'Vila took a kick from Serbia's Dusan Tadic during last week's 2-0 friendly win in Reims and was forced off the pitch in distress with just four minutes on the clock.

The 21-year-old had to walk with the aid of crutches after the match and it was feared that the injury would rule him out of this month's tournament in Poland and Ukraine.

However, the French Football Federation have confirmed that the injury is not as bad as first thought.

"The MRI confirmed that it's a moderately serious sprain, without aggravating factors. It's running its course, there are no complications," an official statement from FFF read.

M'Vila will travel to the finals with the the France squad on Wednesday, but it seems unlikely he will play a part in their opening game against England on June 11.
