Ramires would love Cruzeiro return

Chelsea midfielder Ramires has admitted that he would like to return to Brazilian club Cruzeiro before the end of his playing career.

Ramires, 25, spent two years at the Belo Horizonte club before being sold to Benfica in 2009. Barely a year later he moved to Stamford Bridge, however, and was a key part of the squad that ended up winning this season's Champions League.

Ramires still has fond memories of his time at Cruzeiro, and would happily return if they opportunity arose - although he conceded that it might be difficult for his old club to raise the necessary transfer funds.

"If Cruzeiro are interested, it's possible for me to go back," Ramires said. "Although it's not a decision I can make and difficult because my price is very high. If Cruzeiro could raise the money, I would go back for sure.

"I was happy at Cruzeiro and felt an obligation to return at some point as the club offered me a chance to launch my sport career in Europe.

"At the time, when they used to chant 'Ramires the warrior' I would shudder.

"Sometimes I put on the internet to watch the games and I remember them singing my name after the goals."
