France World Cup winner Marcel Desailly claims he has rejected an approach from Swansea to become their new manager.

Former Chelsea defender Desailly is currently working on gaining his UEFA coaching badges in Wales but said the offer of a move into management came too soon for him.

"I was approached, but it is not the right time," Desailly told Le 10 Sport. "Everything seemed fine, but it was too early."

Swansea are still searching for a new boss after Brendan Rodgers left the Liberty Stadium for Liverpool last month.

Chairman Huw Jenkins has said that the Swans hope to have a new manager by the end of the week, with Denmark legend and former Mallorca boss Michael Laudrup favourite to land the post.
