Keane not thinking about retirement
Republic of Ireland captain Robbie Keane currently has no plans to retire from international football.
Keane, 31, has endured a disheartening Euro 2012 campaign with his nation after their 4-0 loss against Spain, which followed a 3-1 defeat to Croatia, confirmed their exit from the tournament.
Ireland have a chance to restore some pride when they tackle Italy in their final Group C game on Monday, and there have been suggestions coach Giovanni Trapattoni should make changes to his side so as to usher in a new era of players.
Among those whose future is the subject of conjecture is Keane, but the Los Angeles Galaxy striker said: "I'm certainly not thinking about retiring at this certain moment in time. I am fully focused on winning this game, then we will see what happens."
Keane is focused on a positive performance versus the Italians, adding: "I think we need to stick to what we know. We need to give 100%. We are not going into this game with the intention to let Italy walk all over us."
