Spain striker and reported Manchester City target, Fernando Llorente, will not be sold for less than his release clause, his club Athletic Bilbao insist.

Llorente, currently on international duty at Euro 2012, is being linked with a move away from San Mames, despite signing a contract extension last year.

His current deal has a €36 million buy-out clause, and the club have reaffirmed they would not take a lesser fee.

"He is a key player and we would not accept less, the supporters would not accept this," said president Josu Urrutia.

Many of Europe's top clubs, including City and Real Madrid, have been linked with Llorente but the striker refused to be drawn on speculation over his future.

"Now I am only focused on the national side, my situation with Athletic has not changed," said Llorente.

Llorente, who scored 29 goals in all competitions last season, is reportedly seen by City boss Roberto Mancini as a replacement for Edin Dzeko, if the striker departs the club this summer.
