The agent of Russia striker Pavel Pogrebnyak has dismissed reports Reading have signed his client, insisting the Royals are just one of several clubs talking with the striker.

Pogrebnyak, 28, spent the second half of last season at Fulham and found the net on six occasions in his 12 appearances.

It has been reported, though, that the former Zenit St Petersburg striker rejected a contract offer from the Cottagers, in favour of a four-year, £65,000-a-week deal with newly promoted Reading.

However, the player's representative, Oleg Artimov, insists that there is no deal agreed yet.

Speaking to Russian news agency R-Sport, Artemov said: "We are not just holding talks with Reading. There are other English clubs. I think that a final decision will be taken in a week's time."

Pogrebnyak made one appearance at Euro 2012, coming on as a substitute against Greece as Russia crashed out of the competition at the group stage.
