Holt agrees to Norwich talks

Norwich City striker Grant Holt will wait until he has held discussions with new manager Chris Hughton before deciding on his future.

Holt, 31, handed in a transfer request at the end of the Premier League season, which was rejected by the Norwich board, who were unwilling to sanction the departure of their 15-goal striker.

Chief executive David McNally has dismissed reports of a £4 million bid for the former Nottingham Forest striker, who again declared his intention to leave following the departure of manager Paul Lambert.

Holt's representative, Lee Payne, has now told the Norwich Evening News that they will speak to Hughton before making a decision: "It is difficult to make any comment with Chris Hughton out of the country and I wouldn't want to comment either way until Chris is back.''

Hughton is expected to return from holiday in the coming days and will then set to work on resolving issues with Holt over a contract extension. Defender Russell Martin and midfielder Andrew Surman have already signed new deals since Hughton's arrival.
