Atletico Madrid insist they will not sell striker Radamel Falcao under any circumstances this summer amid reported interest from Manchester City.

Falcao has starred for the Spanish club since joining from Porto in 2011, helping Atletico to the Europa League title last season. He has since been linked with a move to the Premier League in order to boost Atletico's coffers.

However, the club's sporting director Jose Luis Caminero scoffed at suggestions the Colombian is set to exit the Vicente Calderon.

"Falcao will remain at Atletico Madrid and any talk of an exit is misplaced. The club has very clear ideas on this," Caminero told AS.

"The striker will remain with us next season and we are not considering any other possibility."

Since leaving for Europe from River Plate in Argentina three years ago, Falcao has scored 108 goals. The 26-year-old has also been linked to Chelsea and Real Madrid in recent weeks.

Manchester City, meanwhile, have reportedly expressed interest in signing Arsenal's Robin van Persie and Napoli's Edinson Cavani as they aim to defend their Premier League crown.
