Beckham blows hot and cold

David Beckham scored a goal for LA Galaxy and was also involved in an ugly bust-up, just days after being informed he will not feature for Team GB at London 2012.

Beckham was left devastated after Team GB coach Stuart Pearce told him he was not part of the squad, which will be officially confirmed on Monday.

But he shrugged off the disappointment to net a superb free kick for LA Galaxy against San Jose Earthquakes. Beckham's goal was not enough to stave off a 4-3 defeat and he was later booked for kicking a ball at a grounded opponent, which sparked a melee.

Despite being 37 and seeing his Olympic dream dashed, Beckham has no plans to call time on his career.

"I feel there is a lot left in the tank," he said. "Yes I'm 37 but I love waking up in the morning and look forward to training. When that changes I'll realise it's time to stop.

"I still enjoy being out there and playing. I still want to continue to be successful, work hard and to also help young players we have in the team become better.

"Me being on the field helps them in a way that can give them my experience that I have gained in the last 20 years. I still feel like I have a good few years left."
