Newcastle target Anita wants Prem move

Vurnon Anita has spoken of his desire to secure a move to the Premier League, amid talk of a bid from Newcastle for the Ajax midfielder.

Newcastle boss Alan Pardew has cast his eye over the 23-year-old, following a glowing report from his chief scout Graham Carr.

Ajax are keen to retain the services of Anita, but the Newcastle Evening Chronicle is claiming that a bid of £8 million could soften the Dutch club's stance.

Anita, who is tied to Ajax until 2014, is aware of the interest in his services and would urge his club to let him move on.

"I am going to seriously consider any interest and will discuss it with my parents," Anita said. "The Premier League is a top competition where I would want to play.

"Ajax say they won't let me go, and I'm tied up here until 2014. It would be no punishment to stay, but you never know."
