Fulham rubbish Dempsey-to-Liverpool report
Fulham have moved to deny reports that Clint Dempsey has been sold to Liverpool.
A report on the website of Liverpool owners Fenway Sports Group claimed that the Reds had 'added Clint Dempsey to a team that came within a game of winning the FA Cup.'
The post has since been removed, but not before it caused quite a stir among Liverpool and Fulham camps.
Liverpool have been strongly linked with Dempsey this summer, but Fulham have moved to deny their star man has been sold.
A Fulham spokesperson told BBC Sport: "It is totally not true. We have not received any bids."
Dempsey has just one year to run on his Fulham contract and the club have so far failed to persuade him to commit for longer.
Having scored 17 goals in the Premier League last term, Fulham may be forced to cash in during the summer transfer window and Liverpool remain at the head of the chase for his signature.
