Chelsea have confirmed the capture of attacker Thorgan Hazard, younger brother of recent acquisition Eden, from Ligue 2 side Lens.

Thorgan, 19, arrives at Stamford Bridge after five years at Lens and will link up with the Blues' Under-21 squad.

A statement on Chelsea's offical website confirmed the move and also stated that "a loan move is being considered to continue his development".

Should the Belgian pair appear together in the first-team they would follow in the footsteps of other famous Blues brothers including Ray and Graham Wilkins, Ron and Allan Harris, John and Peter Sillett, and Chris and William Ferguson.

Thorgan joined Lens as a 14-year-old and broke into the club's senior side last season, making 14 appearances in the French second tier. He has represented Belgium at Under-16, Under-17, Under-18 and Under-19 level.

The signing of sibling Eden last month was seen as a major coup for Chelsea as they bid to build on last season's Champions League triumph and push for a first Premier League title since 2010.

Meanwhile, the Blues confirmed the loan departures of striker Milan Lakovic and goalkeeper Matej Delac to Portuguese side Guimaraes, and Ulises Davila to Sabadell of the Spanish Segunda Division.
